Best Sustainability Apps 2022

May 6, 2022

We want to celebrate businesses that are working with purpose. It is 2022, and there is no better time to explore incorporating business with sustainability. How can we live to accommodate a more circular economic model, and how can we play our part by living a more eco-friendly lifestyle?

Here are ten amazing sustainability-focused apps that we recommend you download:

  1. Good On You App: This app helps you understand more about the sustainability ratings of some of your favourite fashion brands. They empower you by giving you insights into the environmental impact of some of the most popular fashion brands in the world. There is over 3000 brands available on the app, each of them are assessed against their comprehensive rating system. The ratings start from ‘We Avoid’ (1) to ‘Great’ (5) and have an individual score for its impact against animals, people, and the planet.
  2. Vinted: This app allows you to give life to your old clothes. With a community of over 45 million people, Vinted is helping everyday people make money whilst giving your pre-loved fashion pieces a second life.
  3. Yayzy: Learn more about your carbon footprint by downloading the Yayzy app. This app allows people to keep track of the impact of each of your purchases. Link your bank account and get an itemised overview of your expenditure and the carbon footprint link to each one. You can then take it a step further and offset your footprint through some amazing certified climate projects.
  4. Too Good To Go: This app helps people to fight against food waste. Instead of local restaurants and grocery stores throwing food away, people are given the opportunity to buy the food for as little as £2. TGTG is helping restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries etc., reduce their food waste by providing people with daily bargains. Save money, save the environment and enjoy a good meal.
  5. Shpock: this app is a marketplace platform that brings millions of private buyers and sellers across the United Kingdom together for second-hand shopping. You can send almost anything on the app; electronics, clothing, home furniture and even specialised interest items like cars & properties.
  6. Refill: This app connects people to places that they can drink and eat with less waste involved. The Refill app links you to a global network of places to reuse, reduce and refill. You can find places to refill things like your water bottle, find plastic-free stores! Refill empowers you to go packaging free on the go.
  7. Farmdrop: An online grocery delivery service that allows people to get great produce from independent & local farmers who are paid fairly. This service is currently only available in Greater London & the South East.
  8. OLIO: This app connects neighbours with each other, allowing them to share food and household items. There is also a new ‘MADE’ section on the app that sells homemade food and handmade crafts. This awesome idea means that you can declutter your fridge, support a neighbour and give away food that you don’t have time to eat.
  9. Forest- Stay Focused: This app is a revolutionary timer app that eliminates distractions and doubles your productivity in a fun and easy way. The great thing is you can plant a tree when you need to stay focused. If you commit to your task without getting distracted, your tree grows, but if you cannot resist the temptation to use your phone, your tree dies. If you can stay focused, you will have an entire forest.
  10. reGAIN app: An app designed to build circular fashion. Instead, you can turn your unwanted clothing into discount coupons. You can choose items that you no longer need, drop them off at the nearest drop off point and get discount coupons for other products, including nutritional products, home goods or travel.

These apps are all doing great work to help bring sustainability to the forefront of our minds. We live in a time where it is very important to consider how to help people shift their mentality on things like purchasing, waste and understanding more about their carbon footprint.

If we can all do our part within our local communities, businesses, and beyond, we all work together to fight against climate change.
